Isaiah 40:8 Tee
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”
Jesus reassured us the message of Isaiah 40:8 in Matthew 24:35; “Heaven and earth may pass away but my words by no means pass away.” However, the book of Isaiah was written 700 years before the Birth, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. How amazing is that?! And hundreds of years before Christ, in the middle of the wilderness Isaiah’s message leads us to a humbling repentance for the coming of the Lord. Isaiah tells us that man is frail because the breath on the Lord blows upon him, however, the word of our God endures. It is for Gods glory that man is frail and in contrast to His word, we are temporary. As the cycles and seasons of life wither, the permanence of Gods word endures so we can surly rest in Him knowing that all of His promises will be fulfilled.
